the presentation of the direct results of the MAC-SSIIM project:
 training
solution for SMEs and their Relay actors on the informal management of
Intellectual Property:
 2DVDs and 1CD-ROM in 5 languages,
and Users and Trainers guide
one
e-Learning platform,
a Decision tool on IP Audit embedding the MAC-SSIIM
training materials),
MAC-SSIIM project is also the momentum of the
MAC-Team global network by nurturing the creation of the legal structure
of the pan European MAC-Team network into an International non-profit
association under the Belgian law.
The conference presented these results, but also the
impact and experiences at SME level, Institution Relay Actor level
(Chamber of Commerce, Regional Councils) for their SMEs, but also at
professional and federation level for their members (National Federation
of Engineers). How to use these training and support tools, for which
purpose and which type of target groups, and which impact?
In the present global economy of knowledge and
information, SMEs and Entrepreneurs are facing challenges for which they
don't feel ready. One of these challenges is to be able to faster make
strategic alliances and open key cooperation with clients, suppliers and
even competitors without being armed or stolen their key competencies
and specific know-how.
Intellectual
Property and Industrial Capital protection is therefore essential for
these SMEs which represent more than 90% of our economic forces, so that
they can better open to the market and develop sustainable businesses.
Formal IP protection is not always the only solution of
the protection, informal approaches also bring strong complementary
levers.
